“FILM MAKING IS A JOURNEY TO SELF DISCOVERY”
In BUET days I found myself passionate about film and started attending all the film-related workshops and short courses available simultaneously reading as many books and journals as possible. I took an initiative for my first film BUTTERFLIES IN RAIN (বৃষ্টির প্রজাপতি) in 1999, though it did not came out successful, I learned a lot about the craft from this venture in my student life. Further I took a break for the initial struggle for my profession and started again with the formation of a film band CINEMAKER in 2010. In course of time, it became an independent film production company and produced a three short films JUNCTION (জংশন), THE JOURNEY (যাত্রা), A FAMILY (পুতুল) and a documentary IMAGE OF A CITY, all these got a positive appreciation in film festivals from home and abroad. I directed all these except A FAMILY. Then I produced three feature films SUMMER HOLIDAY (আম–কাঁঠালের ছুটি), THE INSTINCT (আদিম) and MASTUL (মাস্তুল) almost in parallel in which I directed the SUMMER HOLIDAY and MASTUL. All these three are now ready for theatrical release. Now I’m in the preproduction stage for my next project DEEP INSIDE THE SOUL (ঘোর). I also worked as the producer and mentor in A FAMILY and THE INSTINCT and another upcoming project FIREFLIES (জোনাকপোকা).
